The Hoffmann group achieved a first ever for South Africa


18-Nov-2009 As the first South African company ever to exhibit in China, Hoffmann was greatly honoured to be represented at reputedly the second biggest industrial fair in the world, the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China, held from 15 - 19 October 2009. In fact, Hoffmann was the only non - Chinese Exhibitor represented at the fair. Hoffmann impressed traders with their value-added offering: quality merchandise, built to exacting Western international standards and backed by quality parts and service.

“Having the opportunity to exhibit at Canton Fair alongside some of the biggest manufacturers and suppliers in the world was not only an honour but also a great opportunity for the development of Hoffmann’s agents in the international arena; we were encouraged by the interest shown in our products and delighted that some visitors recognised the Hoffmann brand.

We are encouraging other countries in the world to deal through Hoffmann on a similar concept to Dubai trading, where buyers will still get special price consideration for smaller quantities, rather than full container loads.”

Hoffmann, the only South African company represented, midst a sea of Chinese exhibitors.

 Senior management respond to queries Leon Come, Hoffmann’s agent in China, supported local senior management, Benny Booysen and Jannie Botha, in welcoming visitors from all over the globe. Many clients were attracted to the Hoffmann display of products when they passed by, most of them stopping to take a better look and to discuss aspects of interest to them. The Hoffmann brand, already recognised by some, particulary clients from Africa and the Middle East, gained valuable exposure and looks forward to greater developments in the international arena in the near future.

The China Import and Export Fair (CECF), also called Canton Fair, is held twice a year in April and October, divided into three phases according to specific industry on exhibit. Hoffmann displayed its products at the first phase of the autumn fair, held 15 - 19 October 2009 at the awe-inspiring Canton Fair Exhibition, this premier industrial fair attracts buyers from all over the globe. Last year, more than 380,000 trading experts from 212 countries attended the fair and contracts to the value of USD 66,280 million signed during the show.
